To improve safety awareness and skills, particularly in waters and marine tourism areas, the Head of the Sukabumi Regency Education Office (Mr. Lima Faudiamar, S.STP) expressed his support for the initiative put forward by the Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu UNESCO Global Geopark Management Agency (BP CPUGGp) and Balawista. This initiative relates to the development and implementation of a Safety Management Curriculum, which is expected to provide essential knowledge for students, particularly in coastal areas.
The Head of the KCD agreed that the curriculum would be delivered through extracurricular activities, ensuring its implementation would proceed without disrupting the main teaching and learning process.
In addition to focusing on safety, the KCD also proposed the formation of a Tourism Care Team, which would play a role in maintaining cleanliness and environmental sustainability in tourist areas, particularly coastal and marine areas. This team is expected to involve students, communities, and the surrounding community as a form of education and concrete action to protect tourist destinations.
This collaborative effort is expected to strengthen a culture of safety and foster environmental awareness from school age, supporting a sustainable tourism sector in the coastal areas of Sukabumi Regency.
